The Power of Food

Apologies for the fact that I'm one of those Christians who sees Christian symbolism everywhere, but I couldn't help thinking how that Sri Chimnoy quote at the end of the article is a neat way to look at the Eucharist. You are what you eat.

Indian food, yum

I loved your article and the part about cooking the Indian meal. My mom (who's Indian) always chanted to devotional music and focused intently while she cooked, really teaching me that subtle energies like emotions can be transmitted while cooking. I love that lesson and try to apply it - although my Indian cooking's not as good as hers!!! www.hinduchristianjew.wordpress.com

I love to cook too. I am trying to be more intentional about my cooking. This article is very timely.

I'm hungry for Indian food too!

Me too!

Amy: I never make Indian food unless I'm having a dinner party, as I live alone. But after I wrote this I wanted it so bad that I made chicken makhani tonight--chicken, zuchinni, mushrooms, onion and carrots in a curry tomato cream sauce--over basmati rice! God, was that good. And when I turned the piece in to our editor, John Spalding, he called me complain that he shouldn't have read it when he was hungry, as he got the worst craving for Indian food! Maybe I'll have to write an Indian cookbook...

Darn. I bring a lousy peanut butter sandwich and a banana to work for lunch and then I read this article. I want Indian food, now!
