I haven't read the book but have seen the promo and the authors on various talk shows.

I've done this type of behavior for many years now and have always gotten what I wanted provided it was something I really needed at the time. Perhaps that is the bit of negative thinking left over from my upbringing, but I've always given thanks for the good *and* the bad in my life, even if it took years before I could acknowledge those "bad" times.
