It's "The End of the Word as We Know It"

As an Eng/History, I can attest to the fact that many a student that "graduates" (grade inflation-unwritten norm) is lacking in literacy. The Bible and works of Shakespeare are the two most quoted works in Western literature. But in a pluralistic, post-modern culture, who cares? It's all relative! is pop culture's answer or excuse for their ignorance. Unfortunately, many a Christian fall into the same boat. (I can criticize, I am one.) Christian ghetto-ism is my coined phrase to describe the modern believer's religious identification process by which one seeks to acquire an overabundant amount of "Jesus Junk" in order to have the appearance of pious spirituality and still be somewhat hip in the eyes of their non-Christian friends. So, Bible sales are up -of course- as well as stickers, T-shirts, and any object that can carry "the message", wherein the person does not have to demonstrate it with their own actions. The article is close to the issue, but does not quite get to the root.

This is a great article. A lot of Christianity is about achieving a look and adopting an attitude. It's like joining a group, wearing the uniform, listening to the right music. But when you look for substance, there isn't much to be found.
