The New Christian Flag

Thank you for that last paragraph

Thank you for the last paragraph in your piece about the ridiculous God + America flag. It is what I've dreamed of for 3 years, that Christians would remember we are called to be Christ's disciples, not His military complex. I had hoped the tragic sacrifice of Tom Fox would call the Church to repentence (turning around) and draw us in the Spirit's tether to lay down our pride for the sake of the Gospel (Good News of Jesus' love for ALL mankind). But it hasn't happened so far. Maybe it's just slow in coming. You give more hope with your words of a new beginning in the place of end-of-the-world apocalyptic mantra that does nothing but antagonize. Bless you!

Terrible people the Americans. All that patriotism and Christian Faith, defending themsevles against terrorism, standing up to tyrants and genocidal thugs. Shocking

Why cant they be good little cowards and do-nothing pacifists like lefty Canadians? Shame on them for standing up to Islamic imperialism.

I dont see the problem beyond the fact that the flag offends the anti-Americans in Canada.

On that point alone I'm buying one. Offending left ing Canadians is worth the price.

The situation is truly becomming frightening but articles like this one let me breathe a little easier. It is amazing that the idea exists among some of the militarily equipped fundamentalists that they are hastening the return of Jesus through their actions - that they are actually working for the new kingdom.

Christian Flag

I think the Christian flag would be better if the person who created were a Christian!

I tried a conversation with this woman, but my admittedly angry disagreement was taken for persecution. This wasn't a surprise given the fundamentalist persecution complex! I'd suggest they sell the thing for $30.00 US silver dollars, but they probably wouldn't get the reference. No doubt she would say this about me as well, but how can we be reading the same Gospel?

"Christian flag" Will Braun article

Superb article! I can confirm that at least one American, but NOT that kind of American, have needed therapy partially due to what's been going on in this country of mine. I'm also what one would probably call an Evangelical Christian. Though I don't like labels. Oooh, double whammy. Now I just say, "I'm a Christ follower (I hope)." Nice to know that our desease (hubris maximus)hasn't spread north.

Anybody else notice that this "US National Christian Flag" resembles the NRA symbol? Except that in the NRA flag the eagle is clutching a pair of rifles in the shape of a cross... I'd get a good laugh out of that woman's flag if it weren't so damn scary!...And the thing about conservative Christians like her is that they think people like me are being paranoid, that we just don't understand them or the Gospel, as they read it. The truth is that a person like me, who grew up in that faith, understands them perfectly well.

I went to the site for the US Christian flag and saw the image of the eagle flying with the bloody cross in claws. Lovely. But it's too bad they didn't also have the bird pooping bombs on non-Christians and other countries. Oh well.
