It's Not Okay to Say It's Not Okay

Narrow view of God

Yes, I know what a "narrow view of God" means. It means that one believes in the existence of right and wrong. What a sanctimonious view that is!!! Helen's view of God is "no God, no rules, no absolutes." Helen is a god unto herself. But true love is telling someone they're wrong when they are wrong! Merry Christmas...and by the way, what purpose would Christmas serve if there were no such thing as "wrong" requiring redemption through a Saviour? But, alas, that is another "narrow view of God" much too sanctimonious for some.

I grew up an extremely religious, extremely devout Catholic. And then, I met some wonderful homosexual people. Although I am completely heterosexual, I haven't been in a Catholic Church since the new Anti-Gay pope was chosen because I find that it's a betrayal of the worst kind to the people that I call friends. I was active in my previous church life, acted as a lector, talked frequently to the priest at my graduate university, particpated in group activities. I used to defend the Catholic church's tenets to others on everything I felt was defensible, but it's really not worth it anymore.

Question: Are there any organizations that people can recommend that are working towards acceptance of gays and homosexuals by the Catholic church? It's very sad that the "Catholic" church has forgotten where their name came from.

I know what's bugging Robert Mahlstedt. It's that Tyler and Rob Connoley look so gosh darn happy! I'll stake a bet that cranky old Mahlstedt has never been happy and can';t stand to see anyone else enjoying life--especially gays. I feel sorry for him. We all should.

Mr. Mahlstedt: Oh, get off your sanctimonious know-it-all high horse. What's not OK is your narrow view of God and the world. "Self-delusion of the worst kind?" Ever heard of projection?

Sorry, but it's NOT OK

Your perspective is self delusion of the worst kind. But no one can convince you of that fact. It must come as an inner revelation.
